Sock Monkey Christmas

We had eight of twelve children with us for our annual Hitchcock/Moffitt Christmas gathering and fourteen of our twenty-three grandchildren.  For me, the Christmas season is a busy and joyous time sprinkled with some sadness.  There are so many memories associated with this holiday.  As I have grown older, I have transitioned through a lot of changes in Christmas traditions.  As I was filling only one stocking (Brett's) on Christmas Eve, I felt a little bit like The Ghost from Christmas Past.  Memories are wonderful, but the future is what usually needs our attention.  I'm thankful for all of mine and Joe's children, their families, and for the traditions they are building in each of their homes.  I'm also thankful that we were able to be with most of them for a little while on Christmas Eve Eve.
