Grandma Miller is 95!!!
Two weeks before Mom's birthday, I placed an announcement of her upcoming 95th birthday, along with her picture, in The Mountain View. I did so, hoping that she would receive at least 95 birthday wishes at this amazing milestone in her life. I was not disappointed since she received well over 100 in the form of birthday cards, e-mails, phone calls, visits, flowers, birthday treats, etc. She had a very happy birthday, I think.
On the day of her birthday, I made lunch - broccoli cheese soup (one of Mom's favorites), Perfect Lemon Cupcakes (new for her and she loved them, but who wouldn't?), Ritz crackers with peanut butter dipped in almond bark (another one of her favorites), and fresh lemonade (thanks, Agnes). Lori and the boys were able to be there, and so were Agnes and Sherman. We had a very nice lunch together and Mom had a very nice day. I do so appreciate everyone who helped make Mom's 95th birthday celebration one of her best!

chin-dripping-good :)
"Happy birthday to you . . ." and the blowing out of the candles.
Good thing two little boys were there to help with that :)
Time to read the cards from that day's mail -
Some made her laugh,
Some made her cry (happy tears)
And some brought back some very old memories . . .
One of many phone calls . . .
One of several visits -
this one from her long-time friend, Antha Drake
I wish I could have taken a picture of everyone and everything, but hopefully these give a good idea of how special a lot of folks helped make her 95th birthday. When we get all the cards together in one place, I'll add a pic of those, too.
