Tears & Smiles
Tears & Smiles
Back & Forth
So many memories!
What a seamstress Mom was! She could make anything - and make it well.
She always said that the underside of a garment should be as neat as the outside.
(Made me nervous when she would inspect my work).
She made so many of my clothes when I was younger.
At the time, I didn't know enough to realize how lucky I was.
Nothing quite like a custom fit.
How she loved jewelry!
She sold Sarah Coventry jewelry for years,
and had quite a collection.
She was quite a partier - if it involved jewelry!
One day, we went through some of what is left.
Much of it was stolen when someone broke into her home.
Twice.
Memories
Light the corners of my mind
Misty watercolor memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were
Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me - Would we? Could we?
Memories
May be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were
So it's the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were
Light the corners of my mind
Misty watercolor memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were
Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me - Would we? Could we?
Memories
May be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were
So it's the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were
