Camp Nonnanee Part I

Holding Camp Nonnanee has gotten trickier and trickier as the girls have gotten older and are scattered about in so many places.  This year, I decided to hold one for my granddaughters while Layla, Olivia, and Ceseley were in TN for Blake & Lauren's wedding.  The month of July was so full I just didn't think I could host Joe's granddaughters at the same time.  Camp Nonnanee Part II was supposed to happen for them in September.  They were going to come spend the weekend with us and we had an outing to the Warren County A & L Fair planned for the Saturday they were here.  That never happened.  On the Friday afternoon that they were scheduled to arrive that night, Joe cut his left thumb and finger pretty bad on the table saw.  Instead of having a cookout with the grand girls, we spent the rest of the day and way into the night at the ER's at Riverpark and at Vanderbilt.  Most definitely not what we had planned.  So, all that Joe's granddaughters got out of the deal was a Camp Nonnanee cap.  Next year . . .

Anyway, back to Camp Nonnanee Part I.  The girls and I left late one afternoon and headed to Rock Island.  We did some exploring in the park and then had a yummy meal at Rock Island Market.  We bought some snacks for later that night to have while we watched a movie.  Next stop:  Little House for a sleepover.  The girls had fun playing outside until time for the movie.

The next morning, they did some Rocky River exploring before going back to Rock Island Market. After eating a big, yummy breakfast, we headed to the Gilley Pool in McMinnville to meet all of my bunch for a day of swimming.  We had so much fun!

Good thing we were only leaving for one night!
