While in the pursuit of happiness,
one should stop -
and just be happy . . .

Baby, it's cold outside. Let's head south!

On Monday morning, February 9th, we headed to Florida.  Leah and her family had rented a house for a week in Clermont (close to Orlando) and invited any who could meet up with them while they were there to join them.  There was a Keller Williams Realty convention in the area that Shawn attended and they decided to plan a family vacation around that.  Holly and her family were able to come and the Whites came a few days later.

It was a loooooooong drive.  From the time we left northern GA, there just wasn't much to see.  Boring.  But, finally we reached our destination and it was so nice to see everyone.

The next day, we went to New Smyrna Beach, which is about 15 miles from Daytona.  The clouds parted, the sun came out, and the day got warmer.  Right after we left.  Oh well, the kiddos had fun, anyway.

Next, we all loaded up and headed to Showcase of Citrus back in Clermont.  Joe was in citrus heaven.  So was I.  The lemons were unbelievable!  We sampled some alligator chili while we were there, had some delicious fresh fruit slushies, and went on a swamp safari.  Fun!

That night we all met at a restaurant for some Caribbean food.  Joe and I ate plantain for the first time and liked it.  Especially after we dipped it into ranch dressing ;-)
